Overview

Trunnion Mounted Ball: The trunnion mounted ball valve is a quarter turn valve which uses a rotating ball with a hole through it, which can be aligned with the flow path (open position) allowing flow and blocks flow when the ball is rotated by 90 degrees. A trunnion mounted ball has mechanical anchoring at the top and bottom, which is suitable for larger and higher pressure valves. Ball valves are used for on/off and throttling services.

Ball:
The ball is trunnion mounted, which prevent seat damage and reduce seat ware dramatically comparing with floating ball valve.
The ball is precisely machined and mirror finished for bubble-tight shutoff and less operating torque.
Full bore design minimizes the flow resistance and achieve better valve performance.
Seat:
With seats on both sides,the trunnion ball valve can handle flow in either direction with 0 leakage.
Seat is spring preloaded, which ensures self sealing adjustment when flow pressure changes to achieve 0 leakage.

Application

The trunnion ball valve is a kind of double-block-and-bleed(DDB) valve, while the floating ball valve only seal the downstream side.The trunnion ball valve can block both upstream and downstream media. And when the pressure in the middle cavity is greater than the seat spring force, the seat will be pushed open to release the pressure inside the chamber to ensure safety.
