Intumescent Fireproofing Paint for Passive Fire Protection of
Surfaces and Assemblies
A range of clear or white intumescent coatings, ideal for upgrading
existing timber surfaces to either 30 or 60 minutes integrity. Can
be easily applied internally or externally by brush, roller or
spray.
BASIC DESCRIPTOINS:
Integerated decorative effect and fireproof function together,
Zhuoan's Fireproof Coating adopting new formulation and advanced
technology, is less expensive than other construction solutions (as
low as $0.75 per square foot) and the spray application allows for
projects to be completed in less time. It is easily applied to
historic architecture, cottage, furniture, solid wood flooring, it
is particularly suitable for interior wooden structure, lumber,
OSB, polywood, fiberwood etc., since it can be directly sprayed
onto any surface without covering up grains.
When exposed to flame or high heat, the coating puffs up to form a
thick insulating cellular foam. This foam layer retards the
penetration of heat, thereby reducing the flame spread (surface
burning characteristics) and smoke development of combustible
materials.
Water-based and nontoxic, this intumescent coating is applied just
like standard paints. It can be applied by rolling, brushing, or
spraying. As little as two coats can create a fire-rated wall for
your structure.

What Are The Most Common Applications For Zhuoan’s Fireproof
Coating?
The most common applications for Zhuoan’s Fireproof Coating are in
the building industry. Historic architecture,wood cottage,
furniture,lumber, OSB, polywood, wood fire resistant coating top
the list. Hotel, hospital, theater, school ,airport, mall, factory
are also a common usage with steel fire resistant coating.
Can Zhuoan’s Fireproof Coating Be Applied Over Existing Rust And
Corrosion?
With wood Fireproof Coating,the substrate surface must be clean,dry
and free from contamination, such as dust,oil stain,water
stain,etc.With steel Fireproof Coating, only a NACE 3 / SSPC-SP 6
commercial blast cleaning is typically necessary.
Application and Training
What Does The Preparation Process Entail?
Only a NACE 3 / SSPC-SP 6 commercial blast cleaning is typically
necessary. There is no need to blast to NACE 1 or 2 since slight
oxidation on the surface allows for the best chemical reaction.
Can The Speed Of Reaction Be Slowed Down To Increase Working Time
Before It Is Cured?
There are various ways to decrease reaction time, but they are
specific to the material being coated and environmental factors. We
will advise you on this during the consultation.
What Thickness Is Recommended?
For wood Fireproof Coating,11.81mils; for steel Fireproof Coating,
118.11~1968.5mils, specific to the material being coated and fire
resistant standard.
Do I Need Special Equipment In Order To Apply Zhuoan’s Fireproof
Coatings?
Zhuoan’s fireproof coating applied using a plural (2K) spray gun or
brush or roller. For spray model, the coating uses specific ratio,
and sprays on using standard plural spray equipment that mixes at
the nozzle of the spray gun. The process requires no heating
equipment or other apparatus besides the plural spray gun.
What Does The Certification Process Entail?
Training is at our facility or yours. We teach you how to use it,
the application process, and how to recognize proper effect.
Experienced painters generally pick up the technique and understand
the minor differences in a few minutes. We recommend two days of
training to allow ample time to cover maintenance of the equipment,
trouble shooting, and to understand the technology.
